Why GOLDEN?

This is the short history of my love affair with Goldens...

After a year since I lost my beloved Bagira, I realized that I desperately want a dog. Of course the first question which arouse, was which breed? My son was against of having a new dog, as he thought it would be a sort of betrayal of our last dog, which was his best friend.

First, I decided to take a Yorkshire terrier, and was already dreaming of taking care of its beautiful coat,
preparing the coat for the shows
with papilions, etc....I gathered a lot do information on this breed, had contacts with various breeders already, but something stopped me always of getting the puppy...

One day, in 2002, I went to the big show, to watch the Yorkshire Terriers rings. The way to the York's rings was passing by the ring of Goldens, and next to it, I saw the beautiful, blond dog. He was so gorgeous, that I couldn't keep my eyes of him!

Of course, I watched the rings of Yorks, spoke to some breeders, and by coming home I just went to the Internet and started to read all what I could find about Goldens.Afterwards, I took some time out, trying to learn as much as possible about the breed, lines, etc...

Once looking through the information on available puppies ,I saw the advertisement, which somehow hit me directly in my gut.I took the phone immediately, asking the breeder if they still had dogs available.Fortunately there were still 2 dogs available - the gold one and the blond one.I took time out again, trying to get all possible information about the pedigree of this litter. And so, after being completely informed, I made an appointment, in order to meet the breeders.

So here I am then, ringing at the bell....I came in, and saw the litter, which was sleeping after their dinner.I was questioned by the breeders as though in court, and suddenly I realized that I pastthe exam on being the new owner of their puppy. Suddenly one of the puppies woke up and put his feet on the side of the litter-box.... I was aloud to take him on my lap.

I was keeping this small bunch of love in my hands, he was smelling to milk, and I was afraid to make a wrong movement. Suddenly he licked my face, and Iknew that was MY puppy.

I asked the breeders if this puppy was spoken for already, and they told me, that this is the pick dog of this litter, and he will be sold only to the best possible show house.I was questioned again, and passed this exam too, so it was decided that this puppy is going to be mine.

Then I had to wait 2 more weeks, before I could take my puppy home, and these were long weeks.....But the day of truth came, and here I am now, 4 years later, in the middle of Golden Love affair which started from a tiny bunch of Golden Love, having 3 wonderful Golden Kids with me!
